Nancy Scally is CEI’s Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer. She also serves on the board of advisors for Kansas State University (K-State). K-State awarded Nancy with the 2012 Entrepreneur Award, which honors alumni who have made significant professional contributions to their fields. In 2011, she received the Small Business Administration Tibbetts award for exemplifying the best in the small innovative business research programs. Also in 2011, Colorado Engineering’s Mentor Protégé program was awarded the esteemed Nunn-Perry award. Nancy graduated in 1983 from K-State with a degree in human ecology.

Dr. Larry Scally is CEI’s Co-founder, President and Chief Technology Officer. He has diverse systems, hardware, firmware and software experience in radar, communication, EW and SIGINT in the areas of electromagnetics, antenna design, RF design, DSP and high performance processing. He spent five years on Kwajalein upgrading, maintaining and operating the TRADEX L/S band radar. He co-founded Catalina Research in 1990 and served as President and CTO. Dr. Scally earned a Ph.D.E.E in Electromagnetics/Remote Sensing from the University of Colorado Boulder, and Master of Business Administration, Master of Electrical Engineering and Bachelor in Electrical Engineering degrees from Villanova University.

Sherry Burghardt is CEI’s Vice President of Operations and Finance. She manages operations processes and procedures, and provides financial and benefits administration and contracting for military and commercial customers. She also has extensive experience with purchasing and production. Prior to CEI, she served as Computer Specialist at Karval Online Education and Software Engineer and Computer Specialist at Sirius Retail LLC. Sherry is currently pursuing an M.B.A. through Kansas State University’s distance learning program. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Business from Bellevue University and an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science from Metropolitan Community College.

Michael J. Bonato is CEI’s Vice President of Program Management. He also recently served as CEI’s Vice President of Advanced Systems. His background includes management of advanced technology development programs and general business operations with systems engineering experience in radar, –INT, and digital signal processing applications. He earned an MBA (Finance) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Don Johnson is CEI’s Vice President of Sustainability. Don’s background includes systems engineering, supportability analysis, and innovative pioneering contracts. He is an accomplished and creative executive possessing multifaceted experience with a proven ability to identify and transform “status-quo” transactional bureaucracies into performance-based execution. Previous positions include Chief of Logistics for Maritime Electronic Warfare at Naval Sea War Command, Crane, and Program Manager, Program Executive Office, Integrated Warfare Systems.
